Coffee and a sandwich in hand, we get into the car at exactly 7 am. After the first few minutes, it is clear that this car is not even a distant cousin of an offroad, so we quickly empty our cups of hot coffee to have something to hold with, and nothing to spill. Severely shaken by the 40-minute drive, but endlessly grateful, we jump out of the car, say goodbye to our rescuers and set off to set up our tent. We are relieved to find that 2 of our tents are already in sight, which means that Alexis has successfully reached his destination.
Probably quite exhausted, given the volume of his snoring. After breakfast (we preferred not to eat the sandwich on the way, who knows how long it would have remained eaten), we set out to wake up the others, change into swimsuits and proceed to run to the hot spring, which is a local sensation. We stayed in for about 3.5 hours. The shower is paid again, 500 isk for 5 minutes… really a steal. We really fill up on lunch, as we have saved supplies for two days. We didn’t plan to move today, because we didn’t know what time, or if at all, we would meet.
That is why we continue to rest, play chess, sleep. Since it’s Camille’s birthday today, we made her a cookie cake after dinner, decorated with a gas burner candle. The bigger the flame, the more wishes come true, right? Unfortunately, we ended the day with the unpleasant discovery that one of our jetboils had been left in the hotel room.
